PaycheckHub ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at paycheckhub.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using PaycheckHub you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

• Calculator inputs — Numbers you enter into our tools (income, filing status, state, deductions). These are processed server-side to produce a result and are not linked to your identity unless you create an account and explicitly save a calculation.
• Account data — If you register: email address, hashed password (scrypt), display name, and saved calculations.
• Newsletter — Email address and topic preferences when you subscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
• Technical data — IP address (hashed in audit logs), browser type, and pages visited — used only for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To run the calculators and return your results (PDF / Excel exports).
• To create and secure your account and remember saved calculations.
• To send newsletter issues you subscribed to (and nothing else).
• To detect fraud, enforce rate limits, and keep the service reliable.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

We use a single HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in. We also use localStorage to remember your light/dark theme preference. We do not set tracking or advertising cookies ourselves; third-party ad scripts (Google AdSense, when enabled) may set their own cookies per Google's policies. You can block cookies in your browser at any time — the calculators will still work.

4. Sharing & Selling

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers strictly necessary to run the site (hosting on hBuilds, email delivery) and when required by law. Newsletter delivery is handled by our email provider under its own data processing terms.

5. Data Retention

Saved calculations are kept until you delete them from your Panel or close your account. Newsletter subscriptions persist until you unsubscribe. Audit logs are retained for a limited period and then purged. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see Contact.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any right, contact us via the form on our Contact page. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

PaycheckHub is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
